Recreational

Introduction

Welcome to Metro United Soccer Club. Metro United Soccer Club (MUSC) is one of the largest youth soccer organizations in the state of Kansas with nearly 4,000 registered players, ranging in age from 4 to 18 in both recreational and competitive levels of play. MUSC strives to promote and teach the game of soccer, develop players at all levels, create an environment where area youth can learn good sportsmanship and fair play and encourage all players, officials, coaches and spectators to enjoy the game.

Our goal is to provide an exciting and fun experience in a low-pressure environment for kids so they can learn the game and develop a passion for soccer and athletics for many years to come.  We strongly believe that youth sports play an important role in a child’s life. Children who participate in youth sports develop both physical and social skills, including self-confidence, discipline, focus, friendship, and motivation – lessons essential in the life of a student athlete. Regular physical activity during practices and games also carries a range of health benefits for young players.

Our recreational soccer program provides boys and girls teams for ages U4(spring only) through high school.  We compete in both spring and fall in house leagues and offer optional summer camps and training opportunities.  In addition to our Pre-K through High School league, we now offer a U4 program in the Spring season only. The coaches for these teams are volunteer parents.  We welcome full teams and individual players.  The make-up of individual teams varies, but most are formed based on elementary school attendance. As a result, most teams choose to practice at locations that are aligned with or close proximity to elementary schools.

Professional coaches provide guidance and resources to aid our volunteer coaches in introducing age appropriate skills to help our recreational players learn and enjoy soccer.
